Primary Wave
Lexi Todd is Deputy COO at Primary Wave Music. After joining Primary Wave 10 years ago as a legal intern, she quickly rose through the ranks to her current position, most recently serving as VP, Business & Legal Affairs, where she oversaw the valuation, due diligence, negotiation, and closing of a number of high-profile deals, including for the catalogs of Notorious B.I.G., Sarah McLachlan, Luther Vandross, and Bing Crosby, to name a few. An attorney by training, as VP, Lexi’s role expanded beyond legal and business affairs to include business development, strategy and operation. As Deputy COO, she helps oversee the company’s investment process for Primary Wave’s pipeline of legendary catalogs, as well as manages various operational matters across Primary Wave’s music publishing, recorded music, film & TV, and marketing and branding divisions.
Lexi is a member of the Recording Academy, the Copyright Society, the advisory board to the Brooklyn Law School Entertainment and Sports Law Blog, and Primary Wave’s internal DEI Task Force. Lexi has been recognized on Billboard’s prestigious “Women in Music”, as well as their highly competitive “40 Under 40” list, and in Variety Magazine’s “Hollywood’s New Leaders” and “Music Legal Elite” lists.
Lexi is also a lifelong singer, songwriter, performer, and producer, and that balance between artistry and industry provides her with a unique set of intellectual and emotional tools that she uses to navigate the ever-changing landscape of the music industry with both respect for creators and passion for progress.
Lexi earned her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and her B.A. degree in Political Science from Monmouth University.
